#3 Beat Tribute

With the last gallon of Gas in America,
I will drive to the final manufacturer of horse drawn carriages
in North America,
Somewhere in Pennsylvannia, near the wheat fields,
the State where the Quakers first discovered oil
And I will show them the advantages of modern combustable engines --
something they don't know, since they don't watch tv and live the ads.
And perversely, they will say that while horses need oats to run
cars need corn, not oil
to get stuck in traffic and go nowhere.
And I will agree but drive out of there anyway
to drink some cherry wine with a Dharma Bum.

Compare to ''The Call Up'', from SANDINISTA! by The Clash -

The_Call_Up.htm

''maybe i wanna see the wheatfields
over kiev and down to the sea
all the young people down the ages
they gladly marched off to die
proud city fathers used to watch them
tears in their eyes...''

From New World Man -

''And I will agree but drive out of there anyway
to drink some cherry wine with a Dharma Bum.''

Compare to ''We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off'' by Jermaine Stewart -

www.top40db.net/Lyrics/
?SongID=86189&By=Year&Match=

''Chorus: So come on baby, wont you show some class
Why you want to move so fast.
We dont have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
We dont have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na na............''

As ''Westport's Own'' Paul Newman sez 2 th' barkeep in HARPER, ''You must be physic.''
